Network Support Specialist

Position Description:

As a Network Support Specialist, the successful applicant will be responsible for all facets of corporate data network planning and operations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform network management and traffic analysis tasks.
• Develop, implement, and enforce security procedures and policies.
• Provide performance tuning and disk space planning and management to ensure efficient operation of the network.
• Perform user account access administration duties.
• Develop and implement appropriate backup procedures.
• Manage web sites utilizing IIS.
• Configure and manage remote access for the LAN and workstations.
• Monitor, test and troubleshoot LAN/WAN environments including hardware and software problems pertaining to the company’s network and computer resources.
• Perform network design and implementation duties as required to expand the range of network services.
• Provide user training to facilitate efficient and enhanced productivity of network operating systems/applications including Outlook and Exchange 2000.
• Provide backup support for PC hardware and software resources.
• Provide communications support and processing for telephone, voice mail, and e-mail systems.
• Project a professional image and provide responsive, high-quality support

Position Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree(s) in Computer Science or Information Science from leading institutions
• MCSE certification required.
• Minimum 3 years experience designing, implementing, and maintaining local/wide area networks.
• Strong proficiencies in Windows 2000 Server, Exchange 2000 Server, Veritas Backup Exec, and Norton Antivirus Software.
• Expertise and experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, firewalls, routers and hubs.
• Excellent presentation, communication (both oral and written), and teamwork skills
