PROFORMANT INCREASES VALUE DELIVERY WITH
LAUNCH OF STRATEGIC ENTERPRISE INFORMATION PORTAL
PROFORMANT systemizes biomedical industry
consulting with information technology that expedites knowledge
creation and automates content management processes.
Framingham, MA, August
3, 2001 PROFORMANT, Inc. announced today the
deployment of its strategic enterprise information portal.
Focusing our time on high value-added
activities is central to our core strategy of increasing value
delivery to our customers, said Joseph Kozikowski,
M.D., Chairman and Managing Partner of PROFORMANT. Because
strategic consulting creates value by creating knowledge,
expediting knowledge creation with our portal expedites value
creation for our clients, he said.
Enterprise information portals are computer
systems that can expedite knowledge creation and automate
content management by consolidating, managing, analyzing,
and distributing information to all users through a common,
highly-usable interface. System components include data warehouse,
business intelligence, content management, and data management
applications.
Our commitment to a high-quality work
product required our business processes to be well-structured
and our client engagements to be executed and organized precisely.
Because of this, the portals design and implementation
were straightforward for us, said Dr. Kozikowski. Source
data for the knowledge warehouse came from legacy files and
relational databases filled with textual documents and structured
data that were accumulated over the course of hundreds of
engagement projects. Knowledge creation and workflow processes
were analyzed and automated with intelligence, content, and
data management systems that interoperate for maximum efficiency.
The proprietary system is unique to the professional
services industry. We simplified the architecture and
user interface by developing transparent metadata tags for
our unstructured data. This allows any user to easily retrieve
and create records without building logical queries or new
data models, said Dr. Kozikowski. This concept and other
elements of the systems design are being patented as
self-learning knowledge and collaboration systems, and have
received favorable opinions of patentability, infringement
clearance, and allowance from patent counsel and the U.S.
Patent and Trademark Office.
Our enterprise information portal dedicates
our customers funds to true professional service by
expediting value-added activities and automating what our
firm regards as generic activities, he said.
